Kashmir Muslim - Sub-Region

Overview

The Sub-Region includes the Kashmir valley and the flanking hills, on India side of the Line of Control (LoC) with almost exclusively Muslim population. Although Kashmir refers just to the Kashmir valley, and the flanking hills a separate Region (originally called the Khasa Hills) - they are divided between Muslim and Hindu and thus the almost exclusively Muslim parts are included in the Kashmir Sub-Region (and the Hindu parts in the Jammu Sub-Region).

Recommendations for Re-Organization of the Kashmir Muslim -Sub-Region

The districts outlined are collectively - suggested as a New Division, of almost exclusively Muslim districts and Tehsil. For Muslim/Hindu Concentrations of the Jammu and Kashmir Division-Districts-Tehsil refer to LINK Map.
All of the 90-100% Muslim Tehsil of the current Jammu Division are included and have connectivity with the Vale of Kashmir. All other Areas/Tehsil of the current Jammu Division - outside of these Outlines are 30-90% Hindu. The 10% Hindu of both Poonch and the North part of present Rajouri district are located in the towns, while the rural parts of the districts are 100% Muslim.

Apart from Religion these outlines/recommendations are based only on Hydrology, Geology and Geography factors.
Since not all the lines cannot be made identical - there may be a detailed outline with an undetailed outline(ie line) bordering it.
