Patkai Hills - Region

A North to South Hill range starting from the Himalayas, going South through India, Burma and Bangladesh - and inhabited by Tribes.
Except for Manipur Valley, the Hills of this region and tribes are predominantly Christian since the British era, followed by Tribal Religion.


Sub-Regions of the Patkai Hills Region


Manipur Valley - Land of the Meitei, a predominantly Hindu(75%) peoples and region, as well as 15 % Indigenous Religion - Sanamahi. The surrounding hills are inhabited by predominantly Christian tribes since the British era.

Naga Hills - Hills of the Naga tribes, predominantly Christian since the British era
Includes the state of Nagaland, some hills to its north in Arunachal Pradesh, and the hills of Manipur state surrounding the Manipur Valley to the North. Continue into Burma.

Mizo-Kuki Hills - Hill areas of the related Mizo and Kuki tribes, both generally Christian  predominantly Christian since the British era..The Mizo are mostly in Mizoram state and the Kuki - the hills of Manipur state surrounding the Manipur Valley - to the South. Both tribes continue in Burma.

Hindu-Buddhist Lushai Hills - Areas of Mizoram state with Majority and/or mixed population of:
- Hindu Bru-Reang tribe (30,000), who continue in Tripura (as Reang 150,000) and Bangladesh
- Theravada Buddhist Chakma tribe(100,000), who continue in Bangladesh(400,000).
The Bru-Reang are present in the North Part of the outlined area and the Chakma in the South Part and the South Half of the North Part
