Ladakh / Trans Himalaya - Tibet - Region

Ladakh is the Trans Himalaya-Bhota (Tibetan) Plateau Mountain system, inhabited by Ladakhi Bhota (Tibetan), who follow Tibetan Buddhism.

Almost all of Ladakh (the Trans Himalaya-Bhota (Tibetan) Plateau Mountain system) is within India.

In ancient times the peoples of varios regions of Bharatakhanda refered to the Bod (Tibetan) as Bhotta/Bhautta - the Kashmira people and peoples throughout the Himalaya, Kinnara - the Kulinda people, Kimpurusha the Bhota(Tibetan) of Inner Tibet.

Bhota

The Bhota (Tibetans) call themselves the “Bod” (transliteration : Bhö)(may originate from Baud=Bauda=Baudha - the Sanskrit term for Buddhist.)
Their neighbors to the South called them “Bhota” or “Bhauta”, a Sanskrit adjustment of Bod, as Sanskrit words end with short “a”.
Bhutan = Bhota-anta, the frontier of Bhota
Chinese called them “Tubo
The Westerners (Turkish) called them the Tubot. (Chinese and Sanskrit combined) – which is the source of European “Tibet”.

Bhota is being used in this presentation as – Bod, Bho, Bo are too short and indescript, and many (Tibetan=Bhota) languages and ethnic groups in India (+Nepal) already/historically include the suffix Bhota in their name.

Recommendations for Re-Organization of the Ladakh Region to the Government of India

https://bharatiya-prakrtisanskrtibhakti.blogspot.com/p/recommendations-for-re-organization.html

The Map includes adjusted boundaries of all Tehsil and District after all below adjustments.

- Sindhu Basin areas of Lahul and Spiti district should be in Ladakh district
- Part of Lahul & Spiti district -  inaccessible from the rest of the district - should be in Ladakh district- Ladakhi Buddhist and geologically
- Ladakhi Buddhist parts of Kinnaur district (H.P) - 3 Ladakhi Buddhist tehsil part of the Spiti valley (in otherwise non Ladakhi Hindu Kinnaur district) should be part of the Spiti and Lahul district. (Spiti Valley is much bigger than Lahul valley therefore "Spiti & Lahul" district instead of the current "Lahul & Spiti")
- 100% Ladakhi-Buddhist part of 100% Purig (Balti) Muslim - Kargil tehsil and district should be in Ladakhi-Buddhist Leh district (village profile or area marked)
- 100% Ladakhi-Buddhist part of 100% Purig (Balti) Muslim - Sanku tehsil and Kargil district should be in 98% Ladakhi Buddhist Zanskar tehsil (and tehsil) of Leh district (village profile of area marked) The area is part of Sanku tehsil on hydro basin grounds(with no administrative effect), though otherwise contiguous with the Zanskar valley and tehsil. These village of few hundred would not find representation in 98% Muslim Sanku tehsil (Zanskar tehsil 98% Buddhist).

Ladakh Division
- Outline of a recommended Ladakh Division including all geologically Trans Himalaya-Tibet - ethnically-linguistically Ladakhi Buddhist areas of J & K and Himachal Pradesh. The said Division is recommended to be made a part of an much larger Himachal Pradesh. (Ladakh cannot be an state due to low population and is only motor connected to Kashmir and H.P ( and not Jammu region) with the Ladakhi Buddhist not comfortable and boycott contact with the Muslim of Kashmir.)

Hypothetical Adjustments
- In the scenario of Baltistan be retrieved, the outlined Purig-Balti Muslim parts of Kargil tehsil and Nubra Valley Tehsil be put in the Baltistan division/district.
- If suggestably the undisputed Spiti basin territory part of Tibet-China were obtained/traded from China - outlines of  possible tehsil-district adjustments based upon hydrobasin-accessibility.

Note : This map requires using one layer at a time (and turning off the rest) or may be confusing.
